Children
Parents of pre-school or elementary school children often contact me about school delays and school changes. In addition to difficulties in getting used to school, anxiety, (lack of) motivation, and difficulties in making friends are common problems.
Working with children means constant contact with parents during the process.

ADHD, Autism
In case of ADHD and autism arising in children, adolescents and adults, I am also happy to help discussing the further options and accompany the medical examination process. It is important to know that a diagnosis can only be given by a psychiatrist specialized in this field, or by a diagnostic team including a (child) psychiatrist.
In case of an existing diagnosis, in addition to cooperation with the attending physician, I help those who come asking for lifestyle counseling or parent-child consultation.

Teenagers
With teenagers, the focus is mainly on discussing the difficulties that come with age, as well as strengthening self-awareness and self-confidence. In the case of older teens, higher education and career choices are also discussed, specifically to explore their strengths and difficulties.
Maintaining contact with parents is needed required when working with underage people, however, the contact requirements can be adjusted as needed throughout the process. For those over 18 years of age, parental consultations are carried out with the prior consent of the young person.
